St Andrew's and St George's West Church Edinburgh: Volunteer Positions in the Awareness Garden

The following positions within the Awareness Garden are currently open to volunteers.

If you are interested in applying for one of these positions simply download and fill in an application form and return it to the church office.

Gardener

Purpose:

To maintain the Awareness Garden and inside plants and herbs.

Dimensions:

Working with the Creative Space Director on the maintenance of the Garden area and also liaising with the kitchen about the compost bin and herbs.

Key Responsibilities:

To maintain the plants in the Awareness Garden, keeping them tidy and planting new plants as and when.
To look after the plants in the Café Area, ensuring that they are regularly watered and re potted when necessary.
To grow and maintain a selection of herbs, that can be used in the kitchen.
To attach and operate the compost bin in line with the kitchen and other centre's requirements.
Assisting the Creative Space Director with research on appropriate plants and herbs, for example, Scottish Wild Flowers.
Attend any trainings and courses as may be necessary for the post.
Identify anything that needs to be bought for the Garden and undertake a costing of these goods.
Take instructions from the Creative Space Director or in their absence the Volunteer Co-ordinator and agree any tasks to be done, and timescales.
