Worship
Worship is central to our life together as a community of faith.
Worship nourishes, sustains and inspires all that we do at St George’s West and all that we do is worship, an offering to God.
Our congregation gathers from all over the city. Some have been worshipping here for many years; others are here for the first time. All are welcome.
Our worship is traditional in structure, ecumenical in content often enlivened by storytelling and songs from Iona and the world church. We follow the Revised Common Lectionary and the scripture lessons shape our worship and our Junior Church programme.
A regular pattern of all-age worship brings the whole people of God together to reflect on the seasons of the Christian year.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the last Sunday monthly and every Wednesday midweek. We believe the invitation to this sacrament comes not from the Church but from Jesus himself. We therefore invite all who hear Jesus’ invitation to join with us in sharing bread and wine.
