Signs of Life

This week following Easter has been a week of very public deaths. They have been the topic of discussion not only in the media, but also in many more private conversations, reflecting a sense of concern about what a good death might be, if such a thing ever exists. Death is so fundamentally part of life, yet it is rarely something about which we talk unless we are forced to do so. Perhaps in a world which constantly strives for perfection, which cannot accept when things go wrong that someone is not to blame, death is so unthinkable as to have become almost unmentionable.
